Winter's Night
Take me somewhere dark.
Take me somewhere cold.
Take me somewhere
We can be alone.
Show me the white world,
Where angels lie on Earth.
Show me where even mundane
Can walk the water's surf.
Just once before I die,
Give me this one wish.
To be able to walk
Where people once caught fish.
Let's run away to starkness,
Where living things go to die.
We can enjoy the eerie darkness,
That for six months tries to hide.
I love the wind.
I love the rain.
What I do not love,
Is the mundane.
So, show me the wonders
That are hidden under ice.
Show me the places
That are mortal's vice.
Show me the old world,
Don't take me to the new one.
For it is the old world,
Where I want to run.
That is where I belong.
It's where I long to go.
It's my adventure,
To see water frozen mid-flow.
It is my fate,
To find joy in pain,
And beauty in darkness
That is other's bane.
It is my destiny,
To live under a blanket of white.
Surrounded by snow.
Fighting the bite.
I long for the cold and darkness
Of a mid-winter's night.
