Sometimes winter isn't kind to the souls
who desire peace in the cold months.
The cold air often brings out the hardness
of our hearts.
Faith cannot rise where snowflakes
fall. But there is something about this season
that brings cheer. God turns into our Emmanuel.
Our God with us, is now entering our hearts
and exploring the frigid parts.
Not only does God reside in the stars
on top of the trees in our houses,
He lives in our hearts while transforming
the solid parts. God is our Emmanuel.
The One who can make, mend, heal
and forgive what is often hard
for us to face amid pain
and tragedy.
Today, choose to allow God
to be your Emmanuel.
Let Him soften your cold
heart and invite the Holy
Spirit in to mend brokenness
and heal your pains.
Lean into the snowflakes
of God's faithfulness,
and never forget that winter
does not last forever.
