I know I'm not the only one that enjoys the later months and early months of the year more than the middle months. Of course, there are a few flaws with winter. Like the fact that everyone's bills rise because they use way too much electricity, or the fact that the days are shorter, or even the possible power outages from blizzards and snow storms. But still, winter is so much better than summer, and you can't convince me otherwise.

Here are a few of my favorite reasons why winter is the best and summer can suck it.

1. It's not hot

Being too hot blows. Being able to walk outside in a jacket and not dying is honestly one of the best feelings ever.

2. Fuzzy socks

Let's be serious, who doesn't love a good fuzzy sock? They're just so warm and cozy. It's like wearing clouds on your feet, and you can never have too many.

3. Comfy clothes in general

What's better than wearing a big comfy sweater or a hoodie with nothing underneath? Nothing. I'm sure a lot of girls are with me on that. People don't expect you to get all dressed up, in fact, people are usually just happy to see other people in the snow.

4. No one tries to force you to go outside

The summer is typically the time that people want to go out and do things. Introverted people hate being "forced" to do things, especially when it deals with outside and other people. Winter is a time that no one wants to deal with nature —therefore, no one goes outside. And if you do happen to go outside, there's usually only one or two people out. It's actually a win.

5. You get to stay snuggled in bed all day with no judgments

I don't even need to explain or justify this one.

6. Outside is so gorgeous and peaceful

Fresh snow is so beautiful, and the way streetlights reflect off it is just amazing. The fresh crunch under your feet is also really nice. And when it's kind of dark and no one is out and it's so quite out, it's really calming. A little freaky like you might get murdered, but definitely still nice.

7. There's no heat

This is still important. If you live anywhere with humidity you know the heat is NO JOKE. If you're not out by the water, then chances are you're miserable when outside. And you're miserable inside because using the AC costs big bucks.

8. No sweat

Another great part about winter is that you don't ruin shirts with pit stains, you don't get embarrassing sweat lines/stains, you don't have to worry about how many layers you can wear, and most importantly you don't have to worry about other people not wearing enough deodorant. It really amazes me that people can walk out of the house without deodorant on, but at least in the winter, it's not as big of a deal. If you're a woman, you probably use deodorant in more than one place, so you know how truly important it is.

9. Possible snow days

If your school or city isn't equipped to handle or accommodate for snow you might get lucky. Unfortunately for some of us, we have to hope, pray, and sell a kidney just to get classes to start a few hours late or have work canceled. But when it happens, oh boy is it nice.

10. Happier people

I don't know if it's just me, but it seems like people are happier in the winter. I don't know if it's the holiday spirit or all the days off from school and work, but either way, it's relieving to see happy people.

11. And most importantly, my birthday

Most of us with winter birthdays end up getting double gifted, but it's still nice to look back and see how much you've changed in the past year!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
