Finals are over and you finally have a few days to curl up and get lost in a good, old-fashioned book! The good thing about reading is that, now more than ever, there is something for everyone. Start here with four interesting reads, but browse the Target book section later for more inspiration!
1. "The Girl With The Lower Back Tattoo," Amy Schumer
Amy is a hilarious person and author whose cringeworthy stories about growing up and being an adult are so entertaining. This can be a quick read, and a definite mood booster.
2. "Please Don't Go Before I Get Better," Madisen Kuhn
This is a book of contemporary poetry by a 22-year-old woman. Her poems are relatable, heartfelt and so beautiful. Kuhn also posts pieces to her Instagram account (@madisenkuhn) where you can check some of her work out before starting the book. Her first book, Eighteen Years, has a five-star rating on Amazon.
3. "Pick Me Up," Adam J. Kurtz
Pick Me Up is an interactive book that has something different on every page for whatever mood your in. For instance, one page says, "Think about everything you didn't know you could do, until you did it anyway. Start a list and add as you return." You can pick this book up anytime and go through the pages for a bit, and then put it down and come back to it whenever!
4. "You Don't Have To Like Me," Alida Nugent
I first read this book when I wanted to know more about feminism, and I think it was a great place to start. Alida is an intriguing writer and was able to really keep my attention through the book. She talks about her personal experiences and how she found her own voice.
Hopefully at least one of these four reads has peaked your interest, but if not a stroll through Barnes & Noble never fails to put you in the reading mood. Take some time to relax and recharge before the new semester, even if it's not through reading a book!
