When it comes to Winter Break, every college student knows it means one thing and one thing only: Netflix binging. The stress of finals is gone, and the stress that comes with a new semester has yet to take shape. We now have the perfect amount of free time to curl up and check out the best that Netflix has to offer, from super heroes to good old 90's nostalgia to cheerleaders that save the world.
1. Super Legends of Flarrow
Okay, so technically these are four shows. But if I put them all separately, then there would only be one extra option. Not only that, but these shows crossover to each other, and are spun off of each other, so trying to pick one to single out would be impossible. Super Legends of Flarrow consists of Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow; The CW's week-long television schedule that includes some of DC Comic's well-known heroes. Supergirl and Legends are both in their second televised season, The Flash is in its third, and Arrow is in it's fifth. All four shows are currently in their mid-season hiatus, so it will be very easy to binge for those who want to watch the newest seasons in current time
2. Fuller House
For all of you nostalgia-seekers out there, the spin-off series of the original late 80s/early 90s classic we all know and love is a quick binge that is sure to make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I watched the first season (and plan on watching the second) with my mom, so it's perfect to sit down with over the holiday with family and friends.
3. Friends
The good thing about a show like Friends is that there's a chance you've already seen it. The purpose that Friends serves as a binge-worthy show is that it's something to throw on when you can literally not decide what else to watch. We've all been there: deciding to watch Netflix and endlessly scrolling through pages and pages of movies and television shows before finally giving up, because nothing seems interesting. Friends is something that you can pick and choose which episode or season you want to watch, and it's easily a very entertaining way to keep yourself occupied for a few hours in the evening.
4. Daredevil/Luke Cage/Jessica Jones
Again, this is grouped because they are all interconnected and spun off, so just watching one would leave you very confused. If you don't like DC and are more of a Marvel fan, this universe — which is being hinted at as being Marvel's Defenders — is as dark and gritty as you expect a Marvel Netflix show to be. The heroes are a little obscure, so if you're only knowledge of Marvel lore is The Avengers or Guardians of the Galaxy, it's good to get into if you want to expand your knowledge about the universe. Jessica Jones and Luke Cage both have one season apiece, while Daredevil currently has two.
5. Heroes
This one isn't a classic comedy, nor is it a Netflix-exclusive, so it's a bit obscure for this list. Still, Heroes is a show that is very easy to get into if either A) you like super hero-type television shows or B) enjoy shows that are dramatic and have several twists and turns. The story is very easy to get sucked into, you start to feel for the characters involved nearly right away, and easily identifiable stars like Nashville's Hayden Panettiere, Zachary Quinto of Star Trek fame, and Milo Ventimiglia, who is most widely known for his stint on Gilmore Girls and NBC's newest drama This is Us. Heroes has four seasons, and if you're a quick-binger (unlike me) it is a show that is relatively easy to get through.
Netflix obviously has tons of programming to choose from, but binging is the new thing, and these shows are both enjoyable and easily bingable.
