Sweat pants, pizza rolls, attitude, lack of showering...yeah, it's definitely nearing finals week. You tell yourself you're going to study 24/7, and you definitely plan on sticking to that. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't; it happens to the best of us. But why not try some new ways to make the most of your study hours this semester so that you ace your finals and stay somewhat sane. It sounds nearly impossible, unimaginable even, I know. But it's real, and these websites can help you get there.
Hemingway Editor
This will pretty much let you know your teacher's comments on your paper before before they even make them. Copy and paste your essay into Hemingway Editor, and the site will highlight long, complex sentences, any use of passive voice, and other common errors. It'll also highlight adverbs and give you stronger options to use instead. As much as I love getting my paper handed back with a rainbow on it, it's probably not for the best.
The Online Books Page
With over 30,000 books to choose from, you can (FOR FREE) find a reading for practically any topic you're working on. Did I mention they're free? Thank you, University of Pennsylvania for allowing us frugal college students to remain nifty and thrifty; we owe you one.
GradeSaver
A little like SparkNotes, but with a few different things to offer. This site has study guides for a bunch of books, plays, poems and films. Plus, there's a whole section dedicated to giving you answers for those pesky questions in the back of your textbook.
STUDY BREAK!
StudentRate
I'm truly honored to introduce you to your new best friend. This site gives you discounts on so many different brands all because you're a student. Tip: Always check Student Rate before you make any purchases. You're welcome.
Keep Me Out
Whether you're addiction is Facebook, YouTube or Pinterest, Keep Me Out will keep you from being able to access those sites more than once in the length of time that you set it for. It literally keeps you out! Sort of annoying , but it's kind of handy at the same time.
Wolfram-Alpha
This site basically answers your homework problems for you and gives you other resources that might be able to help you with your questions. Luckily, it has a huge list of topics to choose from, so you can pretty much use this site as a resource for any of your classes.
Quizlet
Most of us have used this since elementary school, but it's that great. Save some time (and trees) by typing your flashcards here instead of writing them down. It's likely that there's even a set of flashcards with most of your review questions on them already that you can use. The site also lets you spice things up with different games and study modes for going through your note cards.
Written? Kitten!
Attention all animal lovers: constantly getting distracted by cute animal pictures or videos on Facebook? This site is your new best friend. Write your essays on this site and be rewarded with a picture of a kitten, puppy or bunny for every 100 words you write. Motivational? I think so.
STUDY BREAK!
1000LifeHacks
Read through awkward but oddly convenient solutions to life problems you might not have even realized you had. Definitely keep some of these in mind to make your life a just a little bit easier.
Roger Hub
When you enter your current grade, the grade you want to end the semester with, and how much your final exam is worth, this site will calculate the minimum percentage that you have to get on your final to reach the overall grade you want for the class.
