One thing I've always appreciated about "Winnie the Pooh" and his friends is their innocence. They never had super scary adult problems that we seem to face every day. The extent of their problems are finding honey, keeping their garden perfect, and a windy day.

However, author A.A. Milne wrote these stories so that the simple events of their days still gave them the opportunity to say and explain things that you can relate to any situation. Here are some quotes I believe are applicable to any day and put a smile on your face whenever you need one.

1. "Piglet noticed that even though he had a Very Small Heart, it could hold a rather large amount of Gratitude."

2. "I don't feel very much like Pooh today," said Pooh. "There there," said Piglet. "I'll bring you tea and honey until you do."

3. "It's snowing still," said Eeyore gloomily. "So it is." "And freezing." "Is it?" "Yes," said Eeyore. "However," he said, brightening up a little, "we haven't had an earthquake lately."

4. "The things that make me different are the things that make me."

5. "If the person you are talking to doesn't appear to be listening, be patient. It may simply be that he has a small piece of fluff in his ear."

6. "What day is it?" "It's today," squeaked Piglet. "My favorite day," said Pooh.

7. "One of the advantages of being disorganized is that one is always having surprising discoveries."

8. "Rivers know this: there is no hurry. We shall get there some day."

9. "Promise me you'll never forget me because if I thought you would, I'd never leave."

10. "How do you spell 'love?'" asked Piglet. "You don't spell it...you feel it," said Pooh.

11. "Sometimes," said Pooh. "the smallest things take up the most room in your heart."

12. "I knew when I met you an adventure was going to happen."

13. "I think we dream so we don't have to be apart for so long. If we're in each other's dreams, we can be together all the time."

14. "Some people care too much. I think it's call love."

15. "Weeds are flowers, too, once you get to know them."

And the one quote I feel I relate to personally the most:

16. "People say nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day."

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
