Ohioans Are Drinking 'Wine With DeWine' In A New Coronavirus Drinking Game

Amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Ohioans are making light of the news with a new drinking game. Every day, they tune into Ohio Governor Mike DeWine's daily press conference to play "Wine with DeWine."

Created by @Reflog_18 on Twitter, "Wine with DeWine" takes place every day at 2 p.m. during DeWine's COVID-19 press conference. This game features unique rules that range from taking a drink each time DeWine says "Flatten the curve" to when the director of the Ohio Health Department, Dr. Amy Acton, says "um." In a way, this game encourages Ohioans to stay in quarantine, enjoy some cocktails and follow the stay-at-home order issued by the governor.

Quarantined Ohioan Lynn Van Hoose played the drinking game on Tuesday and counted 56 drinks total. When asked about what got her into the game she said, "I'm quarantined and had nothing else to do." Van Hoose also suggested making the game a social event by video chatting others to see their reactions. She agrees it is a great way for those quarantined to pass the time.

While Ohioans continue to take part in "Wine with DeWine," there are now similar games surfacing the web. "Snackin' with Dr. Acton," is another game, but features food instead of alcohol. While the games may increase the television ratings of each press conference, it also ensures Ohioans safety against the coronavirus by encouraging them to stay at home to drink.

The rules can be found here: "Wine with DeWine Rules."
