Will The NBA Expand To Seattle Due To The Sonics Arena Being Built?

8 years, no apologies from David Stern, Clay Bennett. Will Seattle finally get the NBA back and it's history back? Will Adam Silver approve of an expansion to Seattle since the Seahawks are doing great and the Mariners are trying to get into next years playoffs.

30 teams, 1 league, the NBA.

1 city who's team was taken away by Clay Bennett where the team plays in Oklahoma.

1967 a team was an expansion to a city named Seattle, they won there only championship in 1979 but had 6 division titles, 3 conferences titles.

We drafted players Kevin Durant (who later signed with Golden State Warriors but played with Oklahoma City Thunder), Detlef Schrempf (who later finished his career in Portland), Gary Payton, Shawn Kemp, and a lot more.

2006 Howard Schultz sold the our beloved SuperSonics to Clay Bennett who is from Oklahoma. Sadly two years later he would move the team to Oklahoma City in 2008 leaving the City of Seattle with the Seahawks, Mariners and only one basketball team in the WNBA, the Seattle Storm.

In the last 8 years since the Sonics left we have been upset, boycotting Starbucks, and yet rooting for other teams besides Oklahoma to win the playoff games or regular season games.

Since the Sonics left Seattle, the Seahawks went to the Superbowl twice and won it's 1st Superbowl and went to the Superbowl again the next year but lost, the Mariners are working on going to the playoffs in the following years. The city of Seattle has since not had a playoff drought since the 2013 season.

The reason why I dislike Clay Bennett more is that he never apologized to the City of Seattle after he moved the Seattle SuperSonics. The reason I dislike Aubrey McClendon a lot more is that he said publicly, "we (the ownership group) didn't buy the Seattle SuperSonics to keep them in Seattle." May I mention, he was fined $250,000 for saying that. I disliked David Stern more because he approved of the move and didn't care if the Sonics had history in Seattle.

It was announced on September 26 bought a 4.88 acres, $32 million dollars hoping the NBA will finally bring back an expansion to Seattle. Today Chris Hansen and his team of investors decided to ditch public funding and said that they would publicly fund the new arena.

What does this mean for the City of Seattle after 8 years?

Will we get an NBA franchise in Seattle? possibly

Will we get an NHL franchise in Seattle? possibly

Will we finally get the Sonics history back when we get an expansion? Yes.

Will the Sonics come back to Seattle? Yes they have a history here, we need to have the green and yellow back, we need to have the i5 rivarly back between Portland and we need to play our other rivals that we had since the beginning of the start of the franchise.

I miss the Sonics like crazy. They were my childhood team. I always think that Clay Bennett and Aubrey McClendon took my childhood away, which was the Sonics being taken away. One rainy day in Seattle, I met Detlef Schrempf. I asked him about the Sonics coming back and he said he would like them back. Any celebrity, fan, or athlete wants the Sonics back, Russell Wilson, Kevin Durant, Gary Payton, Shawn Kemp, George Karl and the City of Seattle and most fans of other teams. The Sonics will come back and the City of Seattle will be back on the NBA radar and on the map.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
