I Will Not Judge

I will not judge you because you are different from me.

I Will Not Judge

"It's easy to judge. It is more difficult to understand. Understanding requires compassion, patience, and a willingness to believe that good hearts choose poor methods. Through judging, we separate. Through understanding, we grow." - Doe Zantamata

It is human nature to judge. The first thing you want to do when you see someone is immediately judge them based off of what you see. It is hard to fight the urge and resist from judging, but when you do, life becomes more positive. I still struggle sometimes with the human nature of wanting to judge, but I am improving every day.

I will not judge someone based off of their looks or what they wear. Someone might dress differently and that is okay. They may dress that way because they feel their best in that clothing. Who am I to say they cannot wear it because it does not fit my taste? They may wear it because it is what they can afford. Who am I to judge them because of something they cannot help? They may dress in whatever they like and I will do the same. I will not laugh, I will not act disgusted, and I will not judge.

I will not judge someone based off of the religion they believe in or if they choose not to believe. That is their choice and I will do everything I can to protect their right to do so. I have the right to worship the God I want, and so should they. As a Christian, I am told not to judge. Why would I disobey my God and judge? In America, you have the freedom of religion and I will not judge you just because your religion is not the same as mine.

I will not judge because the color of your skin is not the same as mine. I will not think of you any differently just because of your race. We are all humans. We are all equal. You are not any more or any less of a person because of the color of your skin. I did not choose my skin color; I was born this way. No one chose their skin color; they were simply born that way. I will not judge someone because of a simple characteristic of their body.

I will not judge someone because of who they love. If someone is happy, why would I want to take their happiness away from them? Your choice of who you love has no bearing on my life. If I love someone, then I would never let someone tell me I cannot love them. Love who you want and love deeply. I will not judge.

I will not judge someone based off of their appearance. People are born looking the way they do. We cannot just pick out our own facial features and body structure before we are born. To some people, I may be unattractive, while to others, I may be beautiful. Others' perceptions of me do not matter. What matters is how I feel about myself. Someone may already be uncomfortable in their own skin, so why make it any worse by judging? Feel beautiful the way you are. I will not judge.

I will not judge anyone, regardless of what you look like, behave like, believe in, or love. To me you are a person, just like me. We all make mistakes. We all mess up in life. We all fall in love and we all get heartbroken. We all have something we are passionate about. We all just strive to be happy in life. I will not judge you because your life is different than mine and I hope you will not judge me in return.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. Ever heard of “pain is temporary, but GPA is forever?” Pre-meds don’t just embody that motto; we live and breathe it. Here are 10 symptoms you’re down with the pre-med student syndrome.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.

One Book Made Me Question Existence In Its Entirety

"The Stranger" by Albert Campus touches upon many heavy elements... but not in the way you expect. Although it touches upon the aspects of death and love, it also deals with a hidden philosophy similar to that of nihilism.

The story follows the short life events of Meursault, a Frenchman whose carelessness for his actions eventually ends him in jail and dependent on a jury of people to judge the ethicality of his decision and the punishment that he deserves. He eventually gets the death penalty and all throughout he is nonchalant and almost apathetic towards his situation. He finally snaps when the prison sends a priest to him to absolve him of his sins and to cajole him in confessing to the lord.
