Sometimes I wonder what goes through designers minds when they're creating new articles of clothing to wear on the runway for the following season. They pair these terrible looking colors together or cut out articles of clothing to make it as though there's nothing there (can you say thong jeans?).
My one and only question for them is, why?
The spring brings out all kinds of celebrity fashion, especially at awards shows and fashion shows and some of the things these people are wearing almost make me go cross-eyed just looking at them. Some of these outfits look as though they got dressed in the dark or didn't have enough fabric to make the whole outfit. I understand though, it's all about the ascetics and sex appeal.
Just like the thong jeans, they look as though someone took their pants, cut them up until there was just an outline and wore them as actual pants. The way they look on people isn't flattering, plus why would you want your butt hanging out for the whole world to see all day? Not only that, but some places want up to $200 for an outline of jeans... yeah sorry, but no thanks I can do that myself.
To me, fashion is just a weird concept of clothing mashed together to create an outfit.
Sometimes there are outfits that strike my eye and make me want that, but other times you want to stop looking at it, but you can't. And don't even get me started on the prices of these articles of clothing as they are actually outrageously priced. In all honesty, who can afford a $300 shirt that looks like the same shirt you saw at another much cheaper store?
