Almost everyone in college has a roommate at one point or another. Whether it is someone you know or someone you have never met before in your life; we all eventually have one. If you have never shared a room before, it can definitely be a learning experience for both you and your roommate. You will have bonding moments that bring you closer together, but you will also have moments that can tear you apart. These moments can make or break your overall roommate experience. I have arranged 11 real-life moments that I have experienced with all my roommates so far in college.

1. You will learn to respect personal space.

2. You will learn that you will not agree on everything.

3. You will learn that there are morning people and there are night people.

4. You will learn to share.

5. You might have some great girl talks...

6. or some great bromances.

7. You will learn that you might have the same likes and dislikes.

8. You will learn to knock when your roommate has their significant other over.

9. You will learn that you might even be best friends...

10. Or you might be frienemies.

11. Most of all you will learn to be yourself around your roommate.

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
