6 Reasons I Will Always Choose Leggings Over Jeans, And None Of Them Are A Stretch

Let's be real with each other--it's the 21st Century and I think we all know by now that leggings are slowly taking over the universe and in the near future nobody will be wearing jeans anymore. One day everyone will just be wearing leggings, and I look forward to the day that finally happens.

O.K. maybe not exactly like that. But I still hate wearing jeans and I would much rather wear leggings for these 6 reasons.

1. They're SO comfy.

Especially the ones that are lined with fleece! It's like wearing pajamas, so why would I wear uncomfortable denim when I can be walking around basically wearing a blanket on my legs? NEXT.

2. I never have problems finding a pair of leggings that fit.

I'm going to keep it real with you guys--I don't even know what size in jeans I wear because On God every store that sells jeans has a different sizing system. But I for sure know what size in leggings I wear because they're all the same! And leggings just fit better! How many times have you tried on a pair of jeans just to have it fit in the waist but not the legs? You don't have that problem with leggings!

3. Contrary to popular belief, you can still look cute in leggings.

"But Anna, I won't EVER wear leggings everyday because when I go to class I need to look stylish and cute" someone out there probably said when they clicked on this article. LISTEN. You can still look cute in leggings--there are leggings out there that aren't strictly meant for athletic wear. Expand your horizons, people.

4. When I'm wearing leggings I don't feel like I'm suffocating.

Every time I put on a pair of jeans I have to do the "pants dance" to get them on because they're so dang tight, and when I finally do get them on, they leave indents around my abdomen and hips because they're so tight. Jeans are suffocating, whereas leggings tend to be the opposite.

5. Leggings tend to run cheaper.

Now this is only true if you buy certain pairs of leggings, but, the point still remains. I've never once bought a pair of jeans and thought afterwards that it was a steal. They're so expensive and for no reason at all.

6. Because I look amazing in them.

I look like I'm dying when I'm wearing jeans because I feel like I'm dying. I don't have that problem with leggings--I look amazing so I feel amazing.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
