Will a Woman of Color Be The Next Vice President?

Joe Biden has started vetting candidates to be his running mate. They range from Senators, to Governors and even some Mayors. Several of them happen to be women of color. Many pundits and others believe Biden needs to choose a woman of color in order to win in November. There are two Latina lawmakers that we know of that Biden Might choose. They are Senator Catherine Cortez Masto of Nevada and New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham. Lujan Grisham comes from a Democratic state, but Cortez Masto is from a swing state. Biden has struggled with gaining support from the Latinx community during the primaries, and he needs their votes in order to win the general election. Lujan Grisham is the first Democratic Latina Governor in the United States, and Cortez Masto is the first Latina Senator in the U.S.

There are also several African American women that have made Biden's short list. Senator Kamala Harris, Representatives Val Demings and Marcia Fudge, Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms of Atlanta and former Georgia Gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams. Biden has done well with African Americans during the primaries. He overwhelmingly won in South Carolina and other souther states. Several pundits believe Biden needs to choose an African American woman because they are the soul of the Democratic Party. The View's cohost Sunny Hostin said "as a lot of people say, you know, the VP pick isn't an incentive it's a 'thank you,' and I think it should be a 'thank you' to black women," said Hostin. "I think black women are going to have to carry the load in this election like they always do."

In most cases, a running mate doesn't have that much of an effect on the race, but this election might be different. Biden is older than any other candidate that has veer run for President, and he has said that a younger vp would be a better choice for him. Several are watching Biden closely to see if he will choose a woman of color.

Dear High School Friend Group,

My sweet angels, where would I be without you guys. We all grew up together because we either met in middle school or high school and watched each other grow up and get "old." We got to go to prom together and then graduate together. Then watched each other as we continued our lives in college, joining sororities and meeting people who will impact our lives forever. It all has happened so fast.

Oh college, we can’t live with you, but we can’t live without you. It’s a love/hate relationship, really. College is an experience that no one can ever prepare you for, and maybe that’s a good thing. You never really expect any of the things that college encompasses until you are there. College is fun, but don’t have too much fun. C’s get degrees, but they don’t get you into graduate school.

Blair Waldorf

The "Gossip Girl" series may be over, but Blair Waldorf's iconic character lives in our hearts forever. Blair was the queen of the Upper East Side, and a character you either loved or hated. She taught us everything we needed to know about life, love and of course, how to score a Chuck Bass. So the next time you feel a bit lost and are in need of guidance, look no further than to the Queen B herself.

As I spend my Sunday avoiding my homework and other adult responsibilities, I realized that I've watched this series over and over about a million times. Sadly, there isn't a Blair quote I don't know, so I came up with a list of a few favorites. You know you love her...xoxo
