This past year has been quite a ride. Ups, downs, and so much in between. Life can get hectic sometimes, causing us to dwell on what we didn't have time to do or things that negatively affected us. But this year, I propose everyone to stop their busy lives and take a look at all of the amazing things that happened.

Throughout this past year, you have grown so much. Whether you know it or not, you have made some remarkable choices when it comes to life. Think for a second where you were last year. No matter if it was good or bad, you have made it through the next year, and that is something to be very thankful for.

Many forget how amazing it is that we were given yet another day to live. Another day to experience this amazing journey. Even though some may not be coming into these holiday seasons with us, we can live life for them. Not every day is guaranteed, and you have been given the opportunity to experience it. Live every moment to the fullest because of that.

Be thankful for the people around you. Everyone has someone in their life that is rooting for them whether they know it or not. For me, my family and my closest friends are the ones I can rely on the most. They have made my life significantly better, and I am forever grateful to have a support system as strong as mine!

Set aside some time to thank the people you love and the ones who love you for being by your side.

Thank yourself as well!

You have been through some pretty tough things and you have probably asked yourself, "How the hell did I get through that?" Well, YOU DID AND YOU ARE AMAZING FOR THAT.

Thank goodness we went through what we did. Could you imagine where you would be if you hadn't? You have grown because of every experience that has ever been thrown your way. You have blossomed into this badass person who can take control of your world and rock in everything you do.

There is so much more to be thankful for that we often forget about it. This is why the Thanksgiving season is so special to many of us. It is not just about eating the food (even though that part is pretty freakin' great). It is about so much more than that. Get together with your loved ones and hold them a little closer this year.

Hopefully, we can take this season of thanks and extend it to a year of giving. Giving to yourself, others, and even strangers.

Everyone needs to be appreciated every now and then; makes them feel even happier approaching the merriest season of them all!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
