Why "You've Changed" Is Not A Real Insult

"OMG she dyed her hair and got a new car, I don't even know who she is anymore."

Everyone has either been told, told someone else, or experienced the, "don't you think they have changed?" scenario. I find it absolutely ridiculous. I also hate that it's always thrown at people like daggers, an insult because you aren't the exact same person you used to be.

You've changed is petty and a simple insult to someone because they don't like your actions or words. If anyone ever stays the same person from the day they learn to speak to the day they die, you're doing something wrong. Growing and learning from experiences, good and bad is a part of life. It's called growing up, you wouldn't do and say the same things you did as a freshman in high school once you graduated from college, would you? Absolutely not.

Beau Taplin says, "You’ve changed is an insult often intended to discourage you. Ignore it. This is your growth. Adapting and refining yourself are all necessary parts of the process. So long as you continue to endeavor to be kind and compassionate you have nothing to be ashamed of.”

Take "you've changed" with a grain of salt. It's hard to consistently stay on the same path as people. As soon as your priorities change, your hobbies, your thoughts on a certain topic are different, all hell will break loose, because you definitely are not the same person you use to be. Or so they say.

Growth is nothing to be ashamed of.

But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
