Why Your Sophomore Year Of College Is the Best Year Of College

As a freshman you get to experience your first of everything. Your first time living away from your parents, your first time living with a roommate you may barely know, (and might not like), your first time making friends, or even eating at the dining center alone. Your freshman year is made up of a lot of firsts, Like your first time eating 5 Dollar pizza, in college nothing is better than cheap or free food. But it is also made up of a lot of mistakes, like wearing your lanyard around your neck, or having 8 a.m.'s everyday. Most importantly high school is irrelevant. In college no one cares how many times you went to state for a sport or how popular you were in high school because in college, no one is popular. You'll experience your first college classes, as well as making your first memories with what will be your lifelong friends, but nothing makes you want to come back and start your sophomore year like your freshman year summer.

By the time you become a sophomore you already have your main group of friends, know how to actually study for a final, and share a close bond with at least one bouncer. As a sophomore you are officially one year wiser. Its a perfect mix of not too young, and not too old. You know how everything works! You know that Sharky's is all in the past and everything/anything embarrassing that happened there stays in freshman year. Your sophomore year of college is the best because you can still have fun without repercussions because going out is still 100% fun. Your second year of college is the best because you're slowly maturing into adulthood and you still have plenty of room to grow and become the person you strive to be! You can make mistakes because you still have two/three years of potential left in yourself to make up for it. Sophomore year means you've mastered the art of awkward encounters with people and know how to avoid those situations on, and off campus. It means you can stay in on a Friday night with your best friends, but also go out on a Wednesday night without any judgement. Sophomore year is a fearless year for you to do what you want when you want.

All in all, enjoy your sophomore year. It only comes once, and there's so much to appreciate about it. Its a perfect balance of the present and future. No one will probably remember your freshman mistakes, because people don't focus on the past. Unless your friends give you a hard time about it. Enjoy your Thursday nights at Beck's and the infamous S-week. Go out on random days of the week just because you can. Making memories your first two years of college is crucial. There's always something to look back at and laugh on. Cheers to Sophomore year.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
