Do you ever wonder why people succeed in life? Successful people fully rely on their own thoughts to dictate their future. Regardless if it is due to sports, entertainment, politics, or whatever, successful people of the world know that their success is contributed to their thought process.

This all starts with you PMA. Yes, PMA stands for your 'positive mental attitude'. We all can agree, no one likes a negative Nancy... no one! They are the type of people who are able to see the negative in just about everything. We all know one. Yet I doubt that we all want to hangout with one.

The fact of the matter is that we determine our future depending on our thoughts. I, myself, will become a millionaire. I am determined in life to go farther than the average person. I refuse to believe that any person who is deemed average by society is satisfied. Yet I do believe that they are allowing complacency into their lives. When I say complacent, I mean to say that in that individual's life, he or she has acceptable average. I'm sorry but it is true.

That is why having positive, self-appreciating thoughts is such a crucial part in determine your future. You might wonder why people who complain never get anywhere. WELL HERE IS YOUR WHY! They are sad that they are too lazy to do anything to change their live because they are too COMPLACENT!

Some of you will agree with me, but some might not understand this concept. That's okay. I'm talking trying to discuss what is say to you. I'm not talking about your friends ragging on you for something stupid that you did. I am talking about if you were to take what you friends said personally and transcribe it to your inner thoughts.

What you say to yourself is so crucial to your everyday life. I mean if if wasn't, then we would have read, "The Little Engine Who Gave Up." Instead, most of us read "The Little Engine That Could!" And you know, a lot of us found that story to be compelling.

As a psychology major, I solely believe that your cognitive thoughts will make or break you. So what if you didn't make your goal today, but are you going to achieve your goal tomorrow?

If you say no, then you simply have quit on yourself. If you said yes, then continue to do something about your situation. Always learn and apply your lesson in order to better yourself. That way you will one day achieve you goal.

So your thoughts are crucial in determining your future, but are you currently thinking negative thoughts, or positive ones? My advice to you is that you know what your strengths are and what you need to work on. That way you always know what areas you need to improve on.

Whether you like it or not, you will always know why you failed. Don't let your negative, self-depreciation thoughts keep you from succeeding. After all, you deserve the best!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs.
