Family Is The Most Important Thing In Your Life

The love of a family is life's greatest blessing.

Over the last 21 years of my life, I can safely say that many things have changed, which is inevitable of course. I have grown up somewhat, people I knew when I was growing up are figuring out their lives and what they are passionate about, and everything else is in a continuous cycle of growing and changing. However, when there are those days when the weight of the entire world seems to be pressed upon my shoulders, I know my family is always there for me.

I am thankful enough to have such a great relationship with my family. We are always so open with one another, sometimes it is actually scary, but I wouldn't want it any other way. Between my parents and my older brother, I'd like to think that we have shared some good times with one another and I will reflect on those memories for the rest of my life.

Some college students may think that spending time with your family is stupid and boring, but honestly, I just feel bad for them because they probably do not have such a strong bond with their family like I do and I wish others could experience the feeling. I mean, half of the time people think my mom and I are sisters and I just roll with it now because it's too funny not to. But that is the kind of bond I love having with my family because it's also an adventure.

I know at the end of the day, my parents and older brother will always be there for me, no matter what. They always support whatever decisions I may need to make in order to better myself and that is something I will never take for granted. If I am having a stressful day or week, I know I can count on them to make me smile. Especially my dad because he is always full of random jokes and lives to make me laugh.

It might sound cliche', but I honestly wouldn't be the person I am today without my family. Through the good times and the bad, we always stick together and remember to love one another and there is nothing else I could ask for. We may all have our spiteful moments with each other, but that happens with every family. I would not trade any of the moments we have shared for anything else, so thank you guys for never giving up on me and for continuing to show me, endless love and support, even when I may not deserve it.

Always remember to reach out and thank your parents for giving you such an amazing life. Keep in touch with your siblings and don't forget to hang out with them every once in a while. Without your family, who knows what kind of person you would be today. Cherish all the memories you have, both the good and the ugly. Your family is precious and we should embrace that every single day and not just when it is convenient.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
