Why Your College Friends Are Your Forever Friends

College is so difficult, between classes, if you have to have a job to support yourself. It's stressful to say the least. Especially finding a really great support system to help you get through the stressful times of college. It's hard to find that system, but when you do it's like you have finally found your place in the world. They become your forever friends very fast, but its always worth the ride.

During your college years you meet a lot of temporary people and no one wants to admit that, but it is true. Although you meet a lot of temporary people, you also meet the people you will call your forever friends. You will click with them and they will understand you better than you ever thought anyone could. They will teach you more about yourself than you could ever.

You can meet them at any given time in your college years, but it's usually freshman year when you make a lot of connections with people. You spend literally 24/7 with these people. You live within 10 minutes of each other, it's kinda hard to not see each other everyday. You feel as if you can talk about anything and everything because you're so comfortable with them, so fast.

They help you through everything because chances are they are going through the same things. They are broke and stressed just like you, so they obviously can relate to every situation you are in. They will spend the night in the library and make sure you stay up so you can maybe pass that bio final.

They will pick you up when you've fallen and you can't get up. They're pretty much your life alert and you can't live in a world without them. Forever friends are there for you when you get your heart broken and no one else notices. They'll hold a grudge for you because they know you're not capable of it. You may only know them for a month but they instantly become a permanent part of your college journey and life.

These forever friends will be with you through everything during and after college. They'll be at your wedding, at your birthday party in 14 years, at your children birthday parties. These friends you meet in college are the ones you should never take for granted and the ones that you'll want to travel half around the world to see. Thank your college friends, your forever friends, every chance you get. Thank you, my forever friends, you mean everything and more to me.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs.
