Some people hate their birthdays; every time their birthday comes around they complain and say don’t make a big deal out of it. I do the opposite. Every birthday that I know about, is a huge deal. Birthdays are my favorite holiday and forever will be. Birthdays should be celebrated; the day you were born should be your favorite day of the year. I know it is my favorite day of the year.

Here are some reasons why you should consider it for being day #1 in your books:

1. It is a day to celebrate being alive another year.

2. You love giving and/or receiving presents.

3. You get to be obnoxious about something all day long without people judging you.

4. You can eat cake and ice cream without feeling completely bad about it.

5. It’s an excuse to go crazy without regret.

6. Okay maybe a little regret, but it’s worth it.

7. The attention for one day is actually kind of an adrenaline rush.

8. You get to spend time with your close friends/family.

9. Unless you want to spend your birthday with strangers, I guess that’s cool too.

10. You get to do what you want, most of the time.

11. It almost feels like a new beginning each and every birthday.

With this being said, start celebrating! Make your birthday your favorite day of the year. It is okay to be selfish; the day you are born is a great day. I’m so happy you made it another year, you should be too!

Everyone who is in college right now, or has ever been, knows the struggle of pulling in the strings at the last second. It seems impossible, and you have to do a LOT of things in order to assure your future for the next semester.

April Ludgate, historically, is a very annoyed person, and she doesn't hide it. Of all the times that I binged and re-binged "Parks and Rec," her attitude relates more and more to me.

To The Cheerful Person On Their Rainy Days, You Are Valid

The world is not always sunshine and rainbows, and you do not have to be, either.

Ask friends of mine to name a quality about me, and one a lot them will point out the fact that I am almost always smiling. I like to laugh and smile -- not to quote Buddy the Elf in April, but smiling is my favorite! It is probably my favorite go-to expression. However, what a lot of people do not see is that I have my down days. I have days when smiling and laughing is a real struggle, or when I have so much on my plate that going out of my way to behappy takes more effort than I have stored in me. Be it a symptom of college and growing up or a facet of life, I cannot always be content.
