Why You Should Stop to Smell the Roses

I think we all can concur that life is short and maybe just a little crazy, However, I often find myself always wanting more time. How is it physically possible to get everything done in this amount of time? Well ... it's not. I on the other hand have a cure for you. I challenge you that even in your very busy hectic schedule, to find time at least three times a day, to stop and smell the roses. Now I know that you may not always be around a rose per-say, but I mean in more simplistic way. Look around you and find the things that make you happy. My simple joys happen to be that feeling when spring is rolling around and the luscious grass making its way around your toes and the tops of your feet. Or the smell you get when opening newspaper,or a brand new books. If we stop to focus on the the things that make us happy, we will stop focusing on the things that don't. If the sky and the beautiful blue and white clouds put a smile on your face, then stop and soak in that sunshine.

It's the simple things that make us happy like thank you cards, or saying someone's name, or saying good morning, or even a simple smile. It wont be long before we have reached the end of our life and all we have to show for it is the stories where life went wrong. Honestly, a lot went right, because it made you who you are today, and through it all, you had your good days and your bad days. Looking back, the things that got me and most likely you through, were the simple joys. Please, Please, Please, from one busy person to another, don't forget to stop and smell the roses and appreciate the beautiful things that are around you..

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
