With all of the multi-level marketing companies out there right now, it's easy to see the allure of working from home. It sounds great to everyone, right? Choosing your own hours and working in your pajamas? Wrong. It's great for those that enjoy that lifestyle, but I prefer a more fast-paced lifestyle.

I am constantly getting reminded by pretty much everyone in my life that I have too much going on. But how do they know that's not exactly what I need? Some people function their best when they are extremely busy. I'm one of them.

Having just one job where I punch in and work a few hours is not really my cup of tea. And I don't want to just take classes during the school year because I would be bored out of my mind. And guess what? That's OK. I thrive when my days are planned out by the hour. It makes me focus and get everything I need to get done in the free time I'm given. I love staying busy. It makes me feel like I have a purpose.

My freshman year in college I had one job and took about 15 college credits. Let me tell you, I was bored and my grades actually suffered because I had way too much free time to procrastinate.

The next year I switched colleges, so I wanted to take it easy on work. Surprise, my grades weren't great again. I thought maybe I was working too much the next year so I didn't have time for homework (about 20 hours per week). Ha! That wasn't it.

My fourth year I changed my major to Secondary Education and had to have 80+ hours in a classroom on top of work and I picked up substitute teaching. My grades improved and I felt SO much more productive. It was insane. I always kept myself busy in high school and my body got used to the stress and I thrived on it! I just never knew I needed to keep myself so busy.

My fifth year (yikes, I know) was just a little bit busier because I got more involved on campus. I made the Dean's list for the first time last semester.

Now, this fall I will have three jobs, be president of the Aspiring Educators of the MEA at my university, take 21 college credits, participate in Forensics, and write for The Odyssey. I'm nervous about being so busy, but I'm even more excited.

So quit telling your friend, sister, brother, or daughter that they need to take a break. Maybe they just don't want to.

Being a busybody might actually be my calling, and I'm loving it!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
