According to Wikipedia, "Reading is a complex cognitive process of decoding symbols in order to construct or derive meaning." It sounds pretty damn cool when it's explained like that.
It is nice to get off of your phone or computer and experience something new.
You can relax and not worry about battery life, screen brightness in the sun, and annoying group chat messages.
" Harry Potter" inspired me to start (and keep) reading. Maybe finding a good book will inspire you to do something too.
In this day and age, books are available for free to read in so many places. This summer I have probably checked out and read about 30 books from my library.
You can learn something new. Whether it is fiction, nonfiction, poetry or even comics, you will know something you did not know before picking up that book.
It will help your English classes because reading can improve your writing exponentially.
It might inspire you to write your own.
And what better time to read a book than the summer?
