There is no better feeling than seeing your favorite artist live. The music we listen to makes us who we are as indiviuals. Live music gives you the opportunity to meet people who appreciate the same music you do. Whether you're a die-hard fan, or just a casual listener, going to a concert is an unforgettable experience. Not even just the concert itself is the thrilling part. Here's seven reasons why.
1. The Happiness You Feel When The Concert Is Announced
Recommended for you
Whether you expect it or not, you're guaranteed to be overcome with excitement when you see that your favorite artist is going on tour. And for a moment, you even forget about the fact you have to pay for a ticket because you're just that happy.
2. Counting Down The Days To The Concert
While it may feel like it's taking FOREVER between the time that you bought your ticket and the day of the show, it actually goes faster than you'd assume. The wait makes it all the more exciting, and it's worth it in the end.
3. When The Day Finally Comes
When it's finally the day of the concert, that's all you'll be thinking about. You're full with so much joy and you feel like the time is passing by so slowly because you just want to get in the car/train and be there already. But enjoy it while it lasts. You'll wish you could be back in that moment tomorrow.
4. The People That You Meet
Most of the concerts I go to are general admission, which means I'm waiting in line for a while. During that time, you can meet people that you would have never met if it wasn't for the concert and/or artist. One thing leads to another, you find out you like a lot of other same music, and BAM! Just like that, you're friends for life. And it's so exciting seeing them every time that artist you both loves comes to town!
5. The Atmosphere
I have never felt more at home then when I'm standing in a venue, looking around, and waiting for the show to start. You're in a room full of people of all ages, races, and from all over the country, but you're all there for the same reason: to hear your favorite music live.
6. Finding New Music
While it may be annoying sometimes when you find out there are opening acts that you've never heard at the beginning of the show since you just want the main act to come out. However, most of the time the bands are incredible and you may even find some new music that you'll love! And if not, it'll be fine. Just remember in a few short hours you'll be singing along to your favorite songs.
7. Finally Seeing Your Favorite Artist Live
There is no better feeling then when your favorite artist finally gets on stage, especially if it's your first time seeing them. The first time I saw my favorite band live and heard my all time favorite song is one of my fondest memories. I've seen them live multiple times since, but nothing compares. The artists you watch online and listen to in your headphones are finally in front of you and your worlds collide.
8. Singing and Dancing Along To Your Favorite Songs![]()
You can sing at the top of your lungs and dance along to your favorite songs, all while having no regrets. But your videos after may have you screaming in the background, but it's hysterical to watch back.
9. Possibly Meeting The Artist
Even though it may not happen all the time, there's a possibility you could meet the artist. Especially if you go to a small show, because the acts usually meet people afterwards. Meeting your favorite celebrities is probably one of the best things in the world, along with seeing them live. You can tell them what they mean to you and how much you love them. That is, if you're not too starstruck and unable to speak to them.
In conclusion, live music isn't dead. Nowadays, most people would rather just listen to an artist in their headphones than actually gong to watch them perform. They'll never knowhow much their missing out on. I garuntee you that ALL of your favorite music sounds better live. So next time your favorite artist announces a tour, splurge a little bit and buy yourself a ticket. You won't regret it.
In the words of one of my favorite artists, Tom DeLonge, "music is good when it makes you dance, but music is great when it makes you who you are."
