Five years ago a new country music festival was introduced to South Florida and has continued to expand each year. Tortuga Music Festival is a popular music event that started out as a two-day experience filled with major country music acts performing on the popular beach of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. There are 3 stages with different performers at all times so you are guaranteed to enjoy the music all day long. You will find country superstars headlining the festival while also discovering amazing new up-and-coming talent that you are sure to fall in love with. The festival has everything you could possibly wish for: white beaches, beer, and lots of country music!

Over the past few years the festival has grown so much that it was extended to three days. This adds so many artists to the lineup and creates an even greater experience. Not only does Tortuga give the opportunity to see a variety of artists perform within 3 days but the proceeds also go to a great cause. As stated on their website, they work with the Rock The Ocean Foundation which helps bring awareness to the issues about our oceans, and helps support scientific research and education about the cause. So not only do you get to have a weekend filled with amazing music, but you can feel good about doing it too!

In previous years the ticket prices have been around $200 for general admission which is a very reasonable price for how many artists you get to see perform. There are also VIP packages with prices ranging from $1000-$1500. Every year I have purchased general admission tickets and I always enjoy my time. The major benefit to VIP packages is that they have specific areas you stay in which are closer to the stages and they have their own private drink stations and bathrooms. There are definitely advantages to VIP but you will be just as happy with general admission!

This year you can get general admission tickets for $229 and it includes 3 days of great country music, food and drink vendors, water refill stations, and more. VIP tickets are $999 and up which includes access to the VIP Grove, complimentary wine, beer and light snacks, VIP viewing area, private bathrooms, and VIP only food vendors. If

Tortuga is known to bring in major country artists along with famous rock bands as well! Some of the past performers have been Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Jake Owen, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Luke Bryan, Brantley Gilbert, Train, Slightly Stoopid, Zac Brown Band, Little Big Town, Sam Hunt, Chase Rice, Blake Shelton, Tim McGraw, Dierks Bentley, Kip Moore, Kelsea Ballerini, and so many others!

This year the headliners are going to be Kenny Chesney, Luke Bryan, and Chris Stapleton. Others artists performing will be Darius Rucker, Brett Eldredge, Slightly Stoopid, Old Dominion, Maren Morris, Granger Smith, Kane Brown, Nelly, Michael Ray, Locash, Raelynn, Brooke Eden, and many more.

If you have not already experienced the Tortuga Music Festival this is your year to go. You will not regret 3 days on the beach listening to your favorite country music artists. Just think of it as a mini vacation!

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
