Why Fall is the Best Season

Let's face it, that beach bod wasn't really your style anyways...

Why Fall is the Best Season

Coming off what we tried to claim was going to be "the best summer yet," where we went to the beach twice, went on zero vacations and spent far too many hours working inside instead of getting tan, I can see why Fall might feel disappointing. But let's be honest, is that something that a pumpkin spice ANYTHING can't fix?!

If you're not already a Fall lover, let me try and convince you otherwise.

First up we have Fall food. Fall is the welcome mat to Halloween which is the welcome mat to Thanksgiving. Both that include A LOT of amazing food. Chocolate, more chocolate, pumpkin pie this, pumpkin spice that, apple pie, apple cider, turkey, stuffing, butter that's shaped like a lamb; all very promising to help you fluff up for the winter.

That brings me to friends and family. The holidays are all about being around the people you love. Whether it's dressing up as the cast from Scooby-Doo with your family or a not to childish Charlie's Angel's with your friends, it's a must do for the Fall.

Speaking of dressing up, what is not to love about Fall fashion? I'll take a baggy sweater, leggings, wool socks, boots and a cute scarf over a t-shirt and shorts any day. Sweater weather is all I really need to say.

Next up, FALL ACTIVITIES!

- Apple picking
- Pumpkin picking
- Making pies
- Carving pumpkins
- Haunted houses
- Hayrides, the haunted or not haunted kind.
- Corn Mazes
- Do a wine tour
- Celebrate Oktoberfest
- Halloween party
- Trick-or-treat
- Do a 5-K the morning of Thanksgiving
- Go for a hike
- Heat up some apple cider and read a good book
- Have a scary movie marathon

All the things not nearly as enjoyable without the best weather. Fall is the best of both worlds. You aren't sweating your butt off in 90 degree weather but you also aren't losing any fingers to frostbite. Sure flowers blooming is a beautiful sight but you can't beat the view of a hike through the woods with the leaves changing colors and watching the birds fly south.

Fall is the best for sports too. You have the beginning of the hockey season, meat of the football season, and playoffs for baseball. If you're not into any of the Fall activities I told you about before, you can't go wrong with a good ol' football game.

It all comes down to this question; Can you name another season that is so great that it was given two names?!

Whatever you might call it, it's hands-down the best.

It's officially December. There is less than a month of 2024, and I still feel like yesterday was summer. Now comes the merriest time of the year, the Christmas season.

Everyone has been waiting for this time of year since mid-October (which is way too early, in my opinion) or before. It's a time of love, family, memory-making, and gift-giving. A lot of times when I ask friends and family what they want, I get a lot of "I don't know" or "I don't care."

Find excitement in your life and start exploring wherever you are right here, right now.

I was sitting at my cubicle, now that I am an adult, looking at the rain pouring down on the windowsill, bumming on life, wishing for the rain to just stop for a full day.

There are moments where we count down the hours until work is over and how many more days till the weekend, and this many weeks until something exciting. Or something like that? Well, I was bumming because my next day off from work is not until Memorial Day weekend, which is not until the end of May. And since this is my first year out of college being a “real person,” I am totally missing the winter, spring and summer breaks. I am sure all of us have felt this way even if just for a hot minute…

Great Value Colleges

If you go to or went to Kent State, then more than likely you have done or will do some of these things.

1. You’ve slipped and fallen on the ice at least once.
