Why You Should Love Ezra Koenig (If You Don't Already)

I'm sure you've heard of the band Vampire Weekend. I'm sure you've heard the song "A-Punk." Maybe you've even heard the song "Diane Young." You've definitely heard the song "Holiday" if you've ever watched an Apple commercial during Christmastime. If you're lucky, maybe you've even caught a glimpse of Vampire Weekend performing live at a festival. And, if you know what you're doing, you're obsessed with the lead vocalist, Ezra Koenig.

If you don't know, or love, Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend, here is why you should:

1. He majored in English at Columbia University. Oh. Hello, New York. HELLO IVY LEAGUE. And that English major is shown through his incredibly creative lyrics.

2. He is beautiful.

3. He is a Twitter God. Go to @arzE for proof. Maybe you'll find him conversing with random rappers (@JODYHiGHROLLER, anyone?)

4. He can hit those high notes and his lyrics are on point.

5. In college, he owned this blog. The top post is titled "I HATE BLOGGING." There, you can discover gems such as this:

6. He's got freakin' moves in this cheesy, yet great music video:

7. Not to mention the fact that he participated in this ridiculous cover of Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines." (1:20 is gold.)

8. Side note: His sister, Emma Koenig, is a writer on the ABC comedy, Manhattan Love Story. She actually wrote this book, too. Genius runs in the family, I suppose. More the reason to marry into the family, right?

9. After graduating college, he taught. So just think of Ezra from Pretty Little Liars but 8,000 times better.

10. He made a movie called "Vampire Weekend" before forming the band- can you say creative? He plays the main character, Walcott, who goes to Cape Cod, etcetera. (Shows where many of the song names come from, huh?) Check out the trailer here:

11. He can definitely clean up nicely.

12. But knows how to keep it casual.

13. He is the master of the selfie and mirror picture, and it shows on his Instagram feed. And he mentions Third Eye Blind in his caption, which means everything.

14. In general, the dude is just a ridiculously funny, talented, and smart guy. Not to mention he is the most beautiful male on this planet. Go Ezra.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
