You get to take them places with you.
What's better than having a dog with you everywhere you go: class, dorm, hockey game, Chick-fil-A, the bathroom (ok this one isn't great but it's what has to be done).
Here's Blitz in my football class learning about BLITZes (hahahah, but we actually were though). And then meeting a little friend while we waited for our food.
Everyone loves them.
Ok, technically not everyone loves them, but it's close enough. I have yet to take Blitz (the service dog in training that I'm currently helping to socialize) somewhere where people aren't giving him an enormous amount of love and attention. I took him to a number of Youngstown Phantoms hockey games and he didn't disappoint; the kids (and adults) absolutely adored him, and Blitz loved them right back!
(And as much as I hate to admit it, being such a lover of hockey, I don't think Blitz is a hockey dog; he slept through the entire game every time.)
You'll never have your own personal space anymore.
They're quite good cuddle buddies and they love to make themselves at home on you. The bond is unlike any other.
You know that at the end of the day, you're part of something much bigger and that this lovable pupper is going to make a huge impact on someone else's life.
