Why You Should Stop Talking About It And Go!
Madison Jones

Personally, I was very fortunate to have been born into a family that really loves to travel. I have been extremely blessed to have been given the opportunity to go to many different places around the world. (My all-time favorite place on earth being St. Croix, US Virgin Island.)

I believe that this world was meant to be explored. There is so much beauty and history all around our planet and if you don't get out and go travel, you'll never get the chance to see it for yourself. Although traveling can be pretty pricy, there are tons of ways to travel on a budget or to save money for trips and make it happen!

You can make some of your best memories during trips and traveling. When you aren't home and busy with work or school and you're off traveling somewhere, you almost feel like you're living a different life. One with zero stress, no worries and a whole lot of free time. Going on vacation to simply relax by the beach or hangout at the pool is a lot of fun and much needed. But when you really get outside and go explore the towns, go hike, check out the local restaurants and meet the locals, that is when traveling can be really memorable.

When you go on vacation or go travel somewhere you find yourself with a lot more free time. When you are not busy doing something fun, you should take time to reflect on your life and who you have become. You can think about what path you're headed down and what you want out of your life. Going on vacation to clear your mind and think about the things that are most important to you is super important. We get so busy with our day-to-day lives that we forget to sit down and think about what our plans and goals are. Make sure you get out and travel and take the time to reflect. That way, when you head back to reality you have a clear vision of what you want out of your life and what you need to do to achieve those goals.

Whenever you go to a new place that you have never been, you gain a whole new perspective on life. You get to experience and see how people from a different part of the world live their daily lives and what their culture is like. You get to meet tons of new people and enjoy the beauty of their hometowns.

Most importantly, you need to travel and you need to do it now. We are all getting older with each day that goes by. Take the time that you have now while you are younger and get out there. Too many people dive right into their careers at a young age and they work so hard and so long so that they can save for a new car, a new house or retirement. But what if something were to happen and you didn't make it to your own retirement? You need to stop and enjoy your life, make sure you get to see and do the things you want to do. Make sure you don't take each day and each breath for granted. We are not all guranteed to live to an old age, so make sure you get out and travel while you still can.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
