If you’re on the fence about buying festival passes for this summer and looking for a little something to convince you, you are in luck because I have a handy-dandy list of reasons why you should attend.

The Music (duh!)

There is something so unique about the communal experience that you have at a music festival. It’s an amazing feeling to be able to see your favorite artist in open air, and to be around people who are vibing just as much as you are.

The Tan

Festivals are typically in the height of summer, which means it’s the best time to soak up some much-needed sun! Sure, you might get some weird tan lines from your outfit choices, but you’re still going to leave looking like a bronze god/goddess. Just remember to wear sunscreen, nasty sunburn during a festival can lowkey ruin some parts of it.

The Outfits

At a festival, almost anything goes. This is the best time to experiment with fashion. You can get as crazy as you want, or keep it as lowkey as you usually would. Like I said, you might get some funky tan lines but honestly, it’s totally worth it.

The Food

The food at music festivals? HIGHLY UNDERRATED. I went to Lollapalooza last year and there were lobster corn dogs. How incredible, am I right? Also, people think that the good food at festivals is expensive, but in reality, it’s much more reasonable than people think! And if it is expensive, I say why not indulge a little bit?

The Photo-ops

Okay, if you follow me on Instagram you know I post more than the average bear. Never have I EVER passed up an opportunity to take a dope picture, and I don’t think that will ever change. So, if you are like me and THRIVE on “artsy” pictures, you should DEFINITELY go to a music festival.

The People

Everyone at a festival is there for the same reason you are, maybe not the same artists, but definitely the same reason. You can go with friends, or you can make friends! It’s so easy to talk to people when you already know you have something in common!

The Experience

The experience at a music festival is truly one-of-a-kind. You just have to fully immerse yourself if where you are and what is around you. There are so many different things to do and to see while you’re there, and it’s something you will never forget.

So, if this didn’t convince you, I hope something else does because you do NOT want to miss out on one of summer’s main events!

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.
