Why You Should Go To Hangout Fest

Just imagine three days relaxing on the beautiful beaches of Gulf Shores, Alabama. There are varieties of food you can't even choose from, more than 20 different bands a day and some pretty cool people. This is Hangout Fest, and everyone should try and go at least one time.

I have been to music festivals before, but have never been to Hangout. When the lineup came out, I knew the big headliners and have heard some of the bands under them, but I wasn't even familiar with half the artists there, and it was still one of the funnest weekends of my life. Some of this year's artists were The Weeknd, Walk the Moon, X Ambassadors, Cage the Elephant, Panic! of the Disco, Fetty Wap, Ellie Goulding and Florence + The Machine.

As long as you like music you will enjoy this festival. The Hangout Fest is growing more popular every time it comes around, which is usually in May. People count down to this exciting weekend, planning the trip, buying outfits. One of the best things about this festival and mostly all festivals is that you can wear whatever you want and truly be yourself. No one really judges at these things.

As for my first Hangout Fest this past weekend, it was a crazy, amazing experience. You see some crazy things, crazy outfits, but most importantly, you listen to awesome music with good people. After this three-day weekend of nonstop walking, being in the sun and staying up late dancing/listening to rockin' bands you're pretty worn out. But it's a good worn-out feeling. As soon as I walked into the Hangout gates and looked around, I already wanted to buy my ticket for next year, without even knowing what bands would play.

So if you're thinking about getting a Hangout ticket but having second thoughts because you aren't familiar with the bands ... so what?! Get that ticket anyway, you will not regret it. As a first timer to Hangout Fest this past weekend, I 100 percent recommend it! So get a group of your friends together, big or small, get next year's tickets and get ready. Get ready for good food, lots of memories, amazing performances and the best kind of atmosphere.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.
