Being home for the summer is great. There are so many options to have a great day that is filled with joy, laughs, and friends. One of those options are amusement parks, specifically one called Canobie Lake Park, located in Salem, New Hampshire. I recently visited the park and was reminded of all the best parts that it has to offer. Here are some reasons you should try to make your way to this New Hampshire park, at least once every summer:

It’s family-friendly

Since Canobie can be for all ages, it contains rides that every member of the family can enjoy. I swear they could make a park just for toddlers.

Shows

There’s not only rides, but there are also specialty shows of great tributes towards stars such as Lady Gaga, One Direction, Michael Jackson, and even Elvis.

It’s big, but also small

Everyone forgets that Canobie lake is an awesome park that’s not as big as most amusement parks. Yes, it contains numerous rides, but it doesn’t take long to get from one end of the park to another.

Most rides aren’t too extreme

The best part about Canobie is that if you are not exactly a roller coaster junkie, you’ll love this park! This park only contains three roller coasters, not counting the dragon coaster (which can be ridden by small children, adults, and even the elderly!)

Inexpensive

Canobie’s admission tickets are very inexpensive. It is only $38 for a whole day at the park, and if you go with a group, (or after 5 p.m), it’s only $26!

Security

I understand that every amusement park checks to make sure everyone’s safety bar is tight, but it is something about the Canobie staff that makes you feel secure. They have two workers that go around one after the other to make sure you are safe and happy. They will not start a ride until everyone is set and ready and go. They also do bag checks and metal detectors when you first are admitted into the park, which is very good to have these days.

Location Since Canobie is located in Salem, NH, it is easy to access if you live in New England. Luckily for all of us from Massachusetts or Rhode Island, the car ride is only an hour. Some parts of New England can be closer to it than others, but it is still not too far of a distance.

There's always a place to eat

Some parks have a few food stands and that’s it. Canobie, on the other hand, has a few restaurants within the park, as well as food kiosks all around the area. There are even picnic tables set up so you can have a big party right within the park grounds!

There's always something to do

You can either be eating, going on rides, lay by the Castaway Island, or seeing a show. The fun never ends (well, only until the park closes, which is at 10 p.m).

You can never have too much fun

Canobie is the perfect place to be in the summer for a full day of fun, laughs, screams, and food. If the sun is out, it makes the day so much brighter (no pun intended). If you ever get a chance to go, I recommend going, especially with friends. The memories from it will always put a smile on your face from all the great times you had. After all, Canobie’s motto is, “Where it’s always…just for fun!”

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
