Why You Should Go Out For Recruitment
Her Campus

With the new school year approaching, and involvement fairs popping up at every school now in session, fall recruitment has snuck up on us. Joining my sorority was one of the best decision of my life. It can be one of yours too. Unsure of why you should rush, here are some reasons you should.

1. You make a ton of new friends.

Girls that you always have fun with, even if you aren't really watching the game you're attending.

2. It's another great way to get involved on campus and support your school.

3. Your sorority will help you grow as a person and teach you how to network so that you're ready for the future.

4. You get to craft!

5. You get to learn all of the secret rituals your sisters before you practiced, and trust me, once you learn them you feel super special.

6. Having a sister around always guarantees that a boring time will be fun.

7. Anywhere you are, you probably see someone you know... It's wicked cool.

8. You always have people to welcome you into open arms.

Have I convinced you yet? Well, if not, maybe this will... The girls in these gifs are actual sorority girls... Not actresses in movies. They're real and they have this much fun. Trust me.

Go through recruitment. It's exciting. If you find it's not for you, no worries, but you should still give it a shot.

But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
