First off, you're probably wondering what a "fit girl" is. Well before I tell you what it is, let me tell you what it's not. A "fit girl" is not someone that has their entire fitness journey mapped out. It's not someone who has a perfect body and never has cheat days. Essentially, a "fit girl" is any girl who is actively trying to better herself mentally, physically, or emotionally by taking time to go to the gym.
If you are anything like me, routinely going to the gym is tough, and you definitely need some extra motivation. So, I did what a lot of girls do, and went straight to Instagram. When I found Heidi's page, at first I wasn't sure this was the motivation I was looking for. But as I continued to follow her page, I knew that this was the right page for me.
So here are a few reasons why I think every "fit girl" should follow Heidi Somer's.
Don't let her handle fool you.
Her handle is "@buffbunny". My first thought was, "Wait, I don't wanna be buff, I just want motivation for the gym". Well, her handle was very quickly less scary the more I scrolled through her page. Heidi is only about 5 feet tall, pretty long blonde hair, cute as can be, and toned as heck. The words "bulky", "masculine", and "too much" are certainly not words that come to mind.
She seems super relatable.
What I love about Heidi's page, is that when she posts workouts, it's not just her breezing through a workout that would, seriously, put me in the hospital. She films before, during, and after and she'll straight up tell you, "Wow, that was hard today" or, "I really had to push through that last set". It's a comforting thing to know even someone who is in incredible shape struggles too.
It's not always about the gym.
Another reason why I haven't found a page nearly as much as I like Heidi's. Some people make it seem like they go to the gym all day long. And if they aren't at the gym, then they're planning their next workout. Heidi lets you in to more than just her fitness routine.
Two words: GIRL. POWER.
Heidi is all about the power of female. She's living proof of it. Everything she has and does, she has done for herself. If that's not serious motivation, I don't know what is.
Her workouts, duh.
Her workouts are so amazing. There isn't a single workout that she puts out that I think, "Oh wow, I could never do that". She makes it easy to follow any exercise she does. She also makes it clear where each exercise is really going to work, where you should feel the strain when you do it, and how you could modify anything if you're not comfortable at first.
Since I started following Heidi, I've been excited to go to the gym and try all the new workouts she's put on her page. Not only have I been excited to go to the gym, I've also tried really hard to incorporate all of the healthy lifestyle tips she gives into mine. Following Heidi has given me a new found sense of motivation and I think she could do the same for any "fit girl".
