Have you ever wondered why the wealthy always seem to get wealthier? If so, you might want to get your notebook out because I am going to let you in on a little secret.
The reason why the rich get richer is because they are always dreaming of grandeur ideas. Before someone calls me out about how materialistic rich people are, I think its because most of them work hard to have those luxurious things.
Yet most rich people know that they have a lot of money. and will give material things away. For example, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson is one of the most generous actors in the industry. In the last several years alone, he has given cars away to his family members and friends.
Oh but wait Cole, there are people in this world that are in need of monetary help. Well, Dwayne Johnson is also a huge supporter of the "Make-A-Wish" where he has touched the lives of children who have terminal diseases. You can't really put a price on that.
The point I am trying to make is that Dwayne Johnson has the ability to make such philanthropic gifts because he dreamed big and worked hard to achieve his goals. Once he decided that he was going to change his life around, he became determined to be a successful person.
With that being said, people become more successful because they start off with a dream, yet not every dream is materialistic. for example, I have a dream that one day I will be able to start a foundation that sends underprivileged kids to camp. This camp will teach these children life lessons that will ultimately guide them to success. That's not materialistic at all.
But in order for me to achieve this dream of mine, I first need to have a definite plan backed up by faith. I have a dream to develop the best of businesses all over the United States and maybe even the world; however, I must first visualize the end goal of owning all these different businesses.
One business man who I respect stated that people should write the last chapter of their life first. Whether you want to be a successful doctor, lawyer, or maybe even a singer, you have to dream of achieving that title. Your specific dream should only ever propel you forward in life.
Never let an average person hold you back from becoming an above average person. Just because they lost their own dream, they should not dictate you losing your own dream.
In the wake of all the New Year resolutions being set, I challenge you to re-imagine your childhood dreams. Don't let society think that you cannot amount to anything that you deem important. If you can visualize yourself living out your dream, then you must develop a plan on how you are going to obtain it and stick to it.
It won't be easy. People around you may try to pull you down, but if you keep on fighting, they will begin to respect you. The bigger your dream is, the more potential success you can obtain.
So go out and develop a dream, because if you do, then you'll be on track to becoming better than average.
