It is a huge decision to make and your entire college future depends on that decision, but it's a decision you will not regret. Whether you're a freshman getting ready to rush during your first year or a sophomore who took a year to think about it, the time has come! I went through the recruitment process last spring, and I was just as nervous as I'm sure you are. You will hear this a lot, but TRUST THE PROCESS! You will not be disappointed. There are so many great reasons why you should consider rushing a sorority, and I'm here to tell you just a few.

1. The social aspect.

Yes, I'm sure this is the main reason why you want to join a sorority, and I don't blame you! I love being able to connect with other Greek organizations on campus by having socials with them or participating in some sort of philanthropy event. The amount of people that you meet while being in a sorority is unreal, and I wouldn't wish it any other way.

2. Service.

Each Greek organization is involved in its own different service project. Throughout the years, you will partake in a plethora of events to raise money and awareness for your sorority's service organization! It feels so nice to know that you are making a difference on campus and outside of it.

3. Sisters that will last a lifetime.

I remember walking into that crowded gym on bid day 2017 and not knowing a single soul in my sorority. I was so nervous and convinced that this wasn't going to work out for me. However, after gathering with my sorority and all of my new sisters, I came to realize that they didn't really know anybody either, and that's ok! Within the first week, I had more friends than I could've imagined, and I knew then that I had made the right choice. I love each and every one of my sisters, and I know that we have a bond that will last far beyond graduation.

4. You will never be bored again.

Freshman year of college can get pretty lonesome and boring if you're always stuck in your dorm. But after joining a sorority, you could have something to do every single night. Whether that be a required event through your sorority or just hanging out casually with your sisters, you will never be bored again, I promise.

5. The clothes.

You thought you came to college with a lot of clothes...please. Once bid day comes, your closet will be overflowing with shirts with your new letters on them. Especially during big/little week, your new biggie will be spoiling you like crazy with all kinds of new apparel. Not only will you be raking in the new Greek clothing, imagine all of the sister's closets you can now borrow stuff from!

6. Always knowing somebody in your classes.

* * *

I was extremely hesitant to join a sorority, and I'll be the first one to tell you that. I didn't know if I was ready for the time commitment, the expenses, or the 200+ new girls who would be entering into my life, but I will also be the first to tell you that I could not have made a better decision. Trusting the process is a real thing, and it won't steer you in the wrong direction. You will end up where you need to be and create friendships that will last a lifetime.

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Kourtney Kardashian

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
