Going to concerts is by far one of my favorite hobbies. I love the live music being performed, but the thing I enjoy the most about concerts is the atmosphere. There are very few places that give off a similar vibe to a concert or music festival. In a nation that feels so divided at times, it is refreshing to see such a wide assortment of people grouped together to enjoy the same thing: music.
Nobody cares about your race, sexual orientation, religion or where you came from. The only thing that matters is the music being performed.
I've been to concerts that range across the music spectrum; Grimes, 2 Chainz, Passion Pit, you name it. I have driven to Boulder, Colorado to see Tyler, The Creator, to Council Bluffs, Iowa to see Skrillex, and to Chicago, Illinois for Chance The Rapper's Magnificent Coloring Day. Every concert I have seen, no matter the distance I had to travel, has been worth it.
I have a list of artists I want to see in the future, like a bucket list of sorts. As time goes on I plan to check off each and every artist listed. I just bought tickets to go see the Lumineers in January!
Concerts are, in my opinion, the best type of live performance. If you haven't been to one yet then take a chance and see the artist you've always wanted to, even if they're performing 10 hours away. Trust me, it'll be well worth it.
