Where are you wolf? I know you are out there, for I have spotted your kind from miles away. Evil like you doesn't get very far. So come out, come out, wherever you are.

The wolves in our life will come to us as everything we could imagine. Whether it be a concerned family member, a lusty lover or b double f. Masking who they truly are, they seek to rise from your weaknesses to empower themselves. They have a hidden agenda or succumb motives that do you harm. This kind of harm is permanent, as they are fake and not who they say they are. Across this world, you may encounter these people. They will appear sweeter than a Georgia peach, but be rotten to the core. Often times they come with no warning label, so let me be the first to tell you they are toxic.

Similar to a snake in the grass, a wolf is much more dangerous. The snake is hidden by grass and once spotted, others will run away, because they know they're dangerous. The wolf will give you a hug and stab you in the back at the same time. They will walk the walk, and talk the talk. If you have figured out their malicious intentions, you are soon to feel the wrath of the wolf. Their masks will come off, they will get dirty, they will strike you in any way possible. This is because when confronted, they become scared like pups in a thunderstorm. Having a false sense of purpose is actually rather the more scary part about it.

Not all people who wander this world are wolves. Most people are downright good people. However, every once in awhile you will encounter the thirsty wolf. Their actions will determine their spirit. More importantly, a wolf likes to play games. For instance, if you give the wolf a sip of water, they will likely bite your hand off. This is their nature, evil in itself, because in order to survive they intend to take out those around them to climb their way up the top. Knocking people to their knees, in a world where there is no place for that, to feel superior to others. All while being two-faced, playing the sheep but really being a vicious wolf.

I've always been told to never judge a book by its cover. So in wolf terms, its hard to spot one. Be humble and kind to all, but keep your guard up at all times. You do not want to get taken advantage of, or need that kind of negativity in your life such as the wolf. Unfortunately, we can not protect you forever from these wolves. We can only prepare you. If you are concerned, start by eliminating toxic people out of your life, confrontation is not necessary. Be careful who you trust. The devil was once an angel.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs.
