If you can wholly admit that you drink enough water to hydrate a horse, then stop reading this article. If you cannot admit the previous statement, then continue reading- you should be drinking more water. And here's why.
Let's just start out with the obvious statement that you need water to survive. From the time you start school, you are conditioned to learn that you need food, water, and shelter to exist as a human being. If that is not convincing enough- that you are unsuccessfully successfully surviving- here's some more risk-free benefits.
Beautiful, glowing complexion.
It is no secret that the key to blemish-free, hydrated skin is the holy water itself. Your skin cells, much like most cells in your body, are made up of mostly water. Therefore the more you drink, the easier/faster they replenish, leaving you with fresh, radiating skin. If you notice you have regular problem skin, take a look at your amount of water intake- you most likely need to make a change.
Increase in energy.
Water itself will not give you energy. For it is not made of caffeine and adrenaline, BUT water will prevent dehydration and aid in the process of converting food into energy, secondarily providing more zest.
Flushes out toxins.
Drinking enough water has much to do with the proper functioning of your kidneys. The kidney is the delightful thingamabob that ultimately eliminates toxins and waste from your body. If you are drinking a subpar amount of water, the lack of fluid will result in your kidney holding on to the internal debris, which can further result in bloating or other dilemmas.
Promotes weight loss.
A couple indirect ways water can jumpstart weight loss is curbing hunger and the prevention of drinking other things. Start by drinking water at the start and end of your day and before every meal, if you don't already. This will dilute overeating, as you will already have that semi-full feeling. Additionally, the more you are drinking water, the less you are drinking other substitutes like soda, tea, and coffee. This saves you from empty calories and the crash and burn phase.
Headache prevention.
Yes, that's right. The world's most popular excuse to stay in and lay in bed can often be caused by dehydration. As water is also a prominent ingredient in your brain, the lack of can cause your brain to shrink and results in throbbing near the skull. Ouch. Do yourself a favor.
Even knowing all this, it can still be difficult to regularly douse your body with the right amount of fluid. One easy way to do this is to carry a water bottle with you to remind yourself to drink more water and refill it when it's empty. A couple of my favorites are Swell Bottles and BKR Bottles. Another way to unknowingly hydrate is to eat foods, like fruits and vegetables, that have high water contents. Some of these would include, broccoli, watermelon, celery, strawberries, cucumber, tomato, etc. The obviously juicy ones.
Here's to a splashing tomorrow.
