In the past, I always thought that I know myself. Actually, I did not. I had trouble answering knowing-myself questions. There was one time I got a failing grade on one assignment where I had to answer a knowing-myself question. It was about someone else instead of me. When I was in high school, I did not research on the Internet and thought clearly about what I wanted to do for my future. I cared about my wild fantasies too much that I did not put myself first. As I grew up, I began to understand why I have to answer knowing-myself questions.
Knowing-myself questions help you understand who you are. Knowing who you are will help you make the right decisions. When you have to select a job or career, you have to know your strengths, limits, and fears. You have to ask yourself: Is this job or career right for my personality? Some people choose a job or career without considering their strengths, limits, and fears. Then, you have to do an interview. The interviewer asks you knowing-yourself questions. You have to know what the job or career means to you and how you will contribute to that job or career. If you are having trouble answering those interview questions, then how will you do your job or career?
Besides jobs or careers, there are other things to consider. You have to know what you look for in a relationship. You have to know if you want a family or not. You have to know why you are upset. As time goes by, there are more questions that we have to ask ourselves. Sometimes, the world will make us change how we view ourselves. No matter what, always know yourself and go with what you think is right for yourself.
