Why You Need To Start Watching Shameless

I go to school full time, work, and still have time to watch Shameless. What's your excuse?

Why You Need To Start Watching Shameless

Shamless is a show about the wonderfully dysfunctional Gallagher family living in Chicago and just trying to get by each day. With their drunk father Frank and absent mother, oldest daughter Fiona is left taking care of her 5 other siblings.

I didn't even know that the show existed until one night I stumbled upon it on Netflix and decided to give it a try. Now, I'm shamelessly addicted! Here's some reasons why you should be watching Shameless right now.

1. It brings up real life issues

The Gallagher family is a perfect example of how life can really get for people. Shameless is so great because it doesn't sugar coat anything. They touch on many real life issues such as addiction, homophobia, poverty, absent parents, death, relationships and many more.

No matter what you're going through, you will find yourself relating to the show more often than you probably thought.

2. Lip Gallagher

Phillip Gallagher, otherwise known as Lip, is the second oldest sibling. He's the sexy bad boy that you find yourself wanting to fix, but know that he won't change. He has the "idgaf" attitude almost 24/7 but deep down you know that he would give anything for the people that he loves. Oh, did I also mention that he is a genius with a crazy high GPA?

3. The Gallagher Family

The entire Gallagher family is a huge reason to watch the show. You have Fiona, the oldest daughter trying to raise and be the main caretaker for her other siblings. Lip, the second youngest, who is a badass genius. Next up is Ian, the second oldest brother who is all about chasing his dreams and holding on for the wild ride ahead. Debbie is the youngest sister with a big heart. Troublemaker and next youngest brother is Carl, and Liam is their youngest baby brother. Oh, we can't forget about Frank, the alcoholic heartless father who is all about scheming to get his way.

4. Kev and V

Kevin and Veronica are the couple living next door to the Gallaghers and are pretty much considered family. They're best friends with the Gallagher family and make an awesome duo. They are always there for not only the Gallaghers, but also for each other and don't mind getting involved in some of the crazy stuff around them.

5. It's ALWAYS entertaining!

No matter what, there is always some crazy and entertaining stuff happening. You look away from the screen for one second and bam! Someone is either getting shot, running from the cops, or vandalizing property. From episode one, Shameless grabs your attention right away, which also makes it super easy to bing-watch one season in one sitting without even realizing it.

See what I mean?

If you're not already convinced, then sorry to say it but there is something seriously wrong. I will warn you though, once you start watching, it is going to be really hard to stop.

So, welcome! I welcome you to the wonderful world of Shameless and hope you enjoy your journey. You can find seasons 1-6 on Netflix and can watch the current season on Sunday nights on Showtime.

eye roll

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"

Yify

Another day, another Elle Woods comment. Can’t us blondes get through the day without someone harping at us over the typical stereotypes about who we are? I never understood why a person was judged based upon the hair color they were born with, or the hair color they choose to have (unless you dye your hair blue like Kylie Jenner, I’m still trying to understand why that’s a trend). Nevertheless, as it should be assumed, not everyone is the same. Not all blondes like bright colors and Lilly Pulitzer, and not all blondes claim to identify with Marilyn Monroe. I think the best suggestion to give to people before they make such radical claims is to stop judging a book by its cover. Or in this case, stop judging a blonde by her hair color.

15 Things That Happen On Your Birthday

Do you have a small get-together or throw a big bash?

My birthday has never been my favorite holiday. I've found that I'm more excited to celebrate my friends' and family members' birthdays more than my own. I don't like being the center of attention, so I usually celebrate over dinner with a small group of family and friends. This way, I can enjoy myself naturally without feeling like I have to entertain everyone and make sure they are satisfied. In the past when I've had large parties, I was so nervous that people weren't perfectly content that I didn't enjoy myself at my own celebration.
