Disney's latest hit brings us into the world of Zootopia where all species of animals coexist, wear clothes (most of the time), and walk on two feet. So, basically an animated version of New York City. If you haven't seen an advertisement for Zootopia, you need to get out from under that rock and head to the movie theaters. Zootopia is basically Frozen, without the sing-a-longs and if that's not reason enough for you to go see it, here's 8 more:
1. There Is An All Star Voice Cast, Which Includes:
Judy Hopps – Ginnifer Goodwin, who plays Mary Margaret Blanchard / Snow White in the television series "Once Upon A Time"
Nick Wilde – Jason Bateman from the hilarious movie "Horrible Bosses"
Chief Bogo – Idris Elba from "Thor"
Bonnie Hopps – Bonnie Hunt from the classic film "Cheaper by the Dozen"
Dr. Madge – Katie Lowes from "Scandal"
2. Shakira has a song in the movie!
It's called “Try Everything” and it rocks!
3. From the writers of other Disney hits.
Jared Bush, Rich Moore, and Phil Johnston are the writers and directors of this movie. They have worked on both Big Hero 6 and Wreck-It Ralph.
4. Your favorite animal is probably in it.
There are over 60 different species of animals throughout the movie including DMV Sloths, Bunny Cops, and Nudist Yaks. OH MY!
5. It broke Disney box office records.
Zootopia surpassed Frozen's U.S. box office record with $73.7 million in its first weekend!
6. Kristen Bell lives out her dream of being a sloth.
When Kristen appeared on The Ellen Show in 2012, she shared her obsession with sloths. The video of her excited meltdown of her first in-person encounter with a sloth quickly went viral. There were tears, guys. Lots of happy tears.
7. It addresses important matters.
Characters are both exactly who you would expect them to be and the opposite at the same time! Zootopia really emphasizes the idea that you can be anything you want to be no matter who you are.
8. You feel an array of emotions throughout the movie.
You’ll be laughing, crying, surprised, and have your heart warmed all in 90 minutes or less!
Thank you Disney for continuing to keep our hearts warm and smiles big!
