Most people when they try to lose weight think they need to just cut fats out of their diet completely. However, they don't realize that doing that can actually have the complete reverse effect. You need fat in your diet. They can be good fats, but you need fats.
Fats are essential to not only give you energy but they also help keep your body warm, protect your organs and produce hormones that you need. "Bad" fats are saturated fats and trans fats, and "good" fats are monounsaturated fats and polyunsaturated fats. A way to distinguish between the two is that bad fats (saturated and trans) are usually solid and good fats (polyunsaturated and monounsaturated) are liquid.
Believe it or not, it's actually very difficult to find foods that don't have at least a small percentage of fat in them. This is because all plants and animals use fat to store energy; haven't you heard that humans are a lot like animals? Like animals, we need fats in our everyday diet in order to have energy and even just to survive. Yes, too much fat can be bad, however, not enough fat can be just as bad.If you deprive yourself of fats, it's very possible you'll actually find yourself more hungry than you would have if you had eaten some fats. This hunger can then lead to severe fatigue. And the cycle goes on and on and on. If you can't tell already, not eating fats just leads to a very unfortunate chain of events. A good way to make sure you're getting a good amount of the right kind of fats is to read the nutrition labels that most foods provide.
