Why Working In College Stinks

But, actually I love it.

Why Working In College Stinks
Good Call

True to the title, I do believe working in college sucks sometimes. Late nights because you have to do all your homework, studying, and paper writing after work, sucks. Not being able to sleep in because you have to go to work before and after class, sucks. Having to get ready and look some what presentable every day while all your friends dress like hobos for class, sucks, but, you know what doesn't suck.

1. Money

Because I work a decent amount of hours, I *pretty much* never have to ask my parents for a dime. I buy what I want, *pretty much* whenever I want. Are there times when money is tight and I can't go out to eat? Sure. But, compared to people I know who do not work while going to school, I never have to worry about having $3.00 in my bank account, or eating Ramen noodles for an extended amount of time. When I grocery shop, I grocery shop. I am not forced to eat junk like the college stereotype fits, I buy great food and actually cook. Working and having a steady income allows me to do this.

2. A Resume

Unlike many students who find themselves trying to find endless amounts of internships during the summers before they graduate in order to build their resume, I have been able to build mine throughout my college education! I have also been fortunate to work in offices that have provided me endless amount of skills that will be beneficial in any work environment. I have also just learned SO much from being thrown into a work environment with those older than me. Instead of working in a restaurant or retail setting, usual with those your own age, I have been able to learn from those wiser than me, and have also been able to learn how to be tasked with some of the same responsibilities given to others who work full time at my work place.

3. People

I could go on, and on about the amazing, wonderful people and contacts I have met while working during college. Not only have I met great references (going back to the resume), I have also made great friends whom I would have not met otherwise. At all three of the jobs I have worked at during college, I have had an amazing work place environment. While I know that isn't the case for everyone, I have been blessed. I have made not only lifelong friendships, I have also been able to receive endless amounts of advice and wisdom from those who have already been through some of the things I am going through. Out of everything I have received from working during college, the relationships I have made and the people I have met will always be the thing I am most grateful for.

So, while sometimes I might complain on those late nights or early mornings, I really am truly grateful for the job opportunities I have had throughout college. Without them, I do not believe I would have shaped and grown as I have throughout my college career.

Shout out to my amazing offices and coworkers!!

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
