Why I Won't Miss Summer

Twenty reasons why fall is the best month.

Summer is finally winding down. Vacations are over, tan lines are fading, and “back to school” ads are in full swing. It can be a sad transition from summer into fall until you realize all the great things fall has to offer.

1. Cold weather

I don’t know about you but I’m tired of sweating.

2. No shaving

Even though I’m not one to give up shaving my legs all together, fall definitely gives you the excuse to let your hair grow a little bit longer than you usually would. Who has time to shave their legs everyday anyway?

3. Leggings

Although they can arguably be worn all year, there’s no denying that the best time to wear leggings as pants is in the fall. It’s not too hot outside and it’s not too cold.

4. Halloween

It’s the one day of the year you won’t be judged for eating all the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups you want.

5. Pumpkin picking

Nothing gives me more joy in life than going to a farm and picking out a pumpkin to carve.

6. Haunted houses

There’s nothing more fun than walking through a haunted house with all of your friends.

7. Scary movies

Even though I hate being scared, I somehow manage to put that aside for a month and enjoy a ton of scary movies. They really help me get into the Halloween spirit.

8. Baggy sweaters

In the fall I basically live in a baggy sweater and leggings. It’s the most comfortable outfit in the entire world.

9. Fall drinks

I am counting down the days until I can go to "Dunkin’ Donuts" and order a pumpkin iced coffee.

10. Apple cider donuts

I’m probably going to start a petition to make them available all year round.

11. Scarves

I have a minor scarf addiction. I probably have at least two in every pattern and color you can think of. When it comes to making a complete outfit, scarves are the perfect accessory. They keep you warm and look cute.

12. UGG boots

I don’t care if they’re ugly they’re super comfortable.

13. Combat boots

They’re just as comfortable as UGG boots but make you look a little more stylish.

14. TV shows

All of my favorite TV shows have taken a break for the summer and I’m experiencing definite withdrawal.

15. Thanksgiving

It’s an entire holiday dedicated to giving thanks and eating. How could it get any better?

16. Pumpkin pie

The best dessert.

17. Fall scents

I already went to “Bath and Body Works” and purchased a cinnamon pumpkin candle. I haven’t lit it yet but I’m ready for my room to smell like a magical fall wonderland.

18. Fuzzy socks

They’re basically blankets for your feet.

19. Flannel shirts

They’re comfortable and cozy.

20. Concert tours

I go to concerts all year but fall is definitely the best time. All of the bands that have been taking breaks to record new music are ready to get back on the road.

an image of taylor swift standing center stage surrounded by her backup dancers in elegant peacock esque outfits with a backdrop of clouds and a box rising above the stage the image captures the vibrant aesthetics and energy of her performance during the lover era of her eras tour
StableDiffusion

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
