My parents are two of the most important people in my life. They have been by me through every step of my life. They were there when I moved into college and they were also there when my grandpa died.
Through the ups and downs, they have been there.
My mom is the first one I call whether something good or something bad happened. She enjoys listening to me complain about the paper I have to write and she lets me ramble about the silly things that have happened throughout my day. Her laugh is one of my favorite sounds. This past year, I had to read something for Spanish class and instead of suffering through it alone, I FaceTimed her and she laughed through it with me while I was reading it out loud. She truly is my best friend. I love when she comes to see me at school because she enjoys getting to know the people I spend every day with.
Everyone always told me I was "daddy's little girl," and it's kind of true. He used to brush my hair after I got out of the shower and he was much gentler than my mom. He would do anything for me. I know if I called him while I was at school and told him I had a problem he would get to me as soon as possible. I know this is true because I believe in him and he never lets me down.
He always quotes the movie "Taken," by saying "If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now, that'll be the end of it. " He may not be Liam Neeson, but he is my dad and he would protect me no matter what. His smile is my favorite, even if he never smiles for pictures. I am still his little girl.
I love both of my parents. They are the two people I know that I can count on no matter what.
They love me unconditionally and I wouldn't trade that for the world. I would never apologize for my relationship with my parents. I am sorry for the people that have not had the privilege to have wonderful parents such as my own. They raised me right and I hope to one day return the favor with my own children. They are two of the most wonderful people in the world, by my standards and I don't see a problem with remaining close to them throughout my life.
