I just recently went to Disney World with my family visiting from the Philippines. As we were walking through the park and going on the rides, my family, especially my little cousins, were looking at everything in awe. They were trying to take as many pictures as possible in order to capture the moments so that they could last forever, and I was right there with them, making my Snapchat story the longest it has been in a while.
During the day, I slowly realized just how many people were doing the same thing that my family was doing. They were taking pictures of everything, going on the rides and watching shows that featured their favorite Disney movie or Disney characters (Hi, Ariel and Belle), and everyone was waiting in line for an insane amount of time in order to meet their favorite characters. For many of those families, it was their first visit (shoutout to their gigantic pins for letting me know), and it was so adorable to see parents showing their kids things they had only ever dreamed about, like the characters who are waving at them in the Electrical Parade. I am pretty sure I was just as excited as they were because, well, it's Disney.
That being said, it made me realize that I don't think I will ever grow out of Disney.
Disney always puts me in a good mood no matter if I'm already in a good mood, or if I'm having the worst day ever. I can watch a Disney movie as if I've never seen it before, I still cry at all the sad scenes and get mad at the villains when I find out who they are (*cough* Hans *cough*), but I'll be singing all the songs at the top of my lungs, knowing every single word, even the little-spoken lines in between lyrics.
Disney always reminds me to believe in my dreams and to work for them. No matter what life throws at you, you can always get through it with determination. Disney also reminds me to always be young at heart, because growing old is mandatory and growing up is optional. It has also taught me a lot of important life lessons such as:
"Hakuna Matata" -- The Lion King
"If you walk the footsteps of a stranger, you'll learn things you never knew, you never knew." - Pocahontas
Beauty and the Beast taught me to look beyond physical appearances and that it's not all about the physical looks.
"A true hero isn't measured by the size of his strength, but by the strength of his heart." - Hercules
"Ah, yes, the past can hurt. But the way I see it, you can either run from it...or learn from it." - The Lion King
