Why Weekends Should Be Longer

Why Weekends Should Be Longer

When you are anywhere under five years old, your outlook on the week is pretty fantastic. You don't have school or work to attend every day, so the concept of "looking forward to the weekend" doesn't cross your mind. Yeah, mommy and daddy and older siblings will be around the house more, but your days are filled with endless hours to spend how you please and your stress level is hopefully a constant zero no matter what day it is. As soon as we start kindergarten, BAM, our week is divided into the "normal week" and the "weekend." The sad thing is, this feeling will never go away ... for the rest of our lives ...

These are my reasons for why the weekend should be longer.

1. More time to develop your skill set

If the weekend was longer, you could get all of your homework and "to do" lists out of the way immediately and spend the rest of your time learning a whole host of new life skills with which you will impress people. Don't have time to learn a new language, crochet, or become surprisingly good at wood working? No longer a problem. When the weekend is longer, you can become a much better human.

2. More "going out" nights

With the current way our life is set up, you only have a handful of nights in which you can go out on the town (that is if you are responsible and want to have a job one day/keep your job). With more time on the weekends, there will be more nights to spend at the bars, out on a date, or just straight chillin' with Netflix and a bowl of popcorn. Traveling will be a much better experience as well.

3. More time to write articles for The Odyssey

*DISCLAIMER: I fully understand that no amount of time can be added to lengthen the weekend. Even if there were a way to do this, we would all just end up procrastinating for a longer amount of time.

Tamatoa created a liar filled with shiny things simply for the purpose of tricking fish to enter and become his food. He too experiences a lesson in how easy it is to be tricked by shiny things when Moana distracts him by covering herself in glowing algae so Maui can grab his hook.

I am going to a rhyme without reason date function and I have looked at so many different rhyming words and I figured there need to be a new list of words. At these functions, there are usually at least two rockers and boxers and an umpteenth amount of dogs and frogs. I have come up with a list of creative and unique ideas for these functions.

If you like what you see, get a shopping cart going with these costumes.

Epic Creation Myths: Norse Origins Unveiled

What happened in the beginning, and how the heavens were set in motion.

The Norse Creation Myth

Now, I have the everlasting joy of explaining the Norse creation myth. To be honest, it can be a bit kooky, so talking about it is always fun. The entire cosmos is included in this creation myth, not just the earth but the sun and the moon as well. This will be a short retelling, a summary of the creation myth, somewhat like I did with Hermod's ride to Hel.
