Alrighty folks, it has been about a week or so since the election and we all know how everybody is reacting. I am not one to state my political decision on social media, but the day after the election I did. I can agree with a lot of people and I am not exactly pleased with the results. And that is the only thing I will be saying about my feelings. However, that is not the point of this article. The point of this article is what exactly happened and what is happening as a result of it.
We all know that we are the only country that works off an electoral college (thank you founding fathers). Every other country works off of the popular vote. The electoral college is under attack and now people are signing a petition to do away with it. Not only that, but people have taken to the streets to voice their opinion. We all know who voted for who, but we also know who didn't vote for who. This election year was extremely tricky due to the way everything played out. Between the slander and name calling. We the people had the choice and I know a lot of you are not happy.
However, the protesting can go one of to ways. We could have a peaceful protest or people could be rioting and burning our flag. Well, what I hoped for isn't happening. THe protests on the streets and the protests on social media have gotten out of hand. There is no need to burn our nation's flag or bully each other. There is too much hate happening in our country. While we may or may not be happy, there is nothing that could be done.
I am going to be the one to say that we need to give this man a chance. I understand that he said anything to win the election, however, he should be given a chance. As a woman, I can understand why we should fear him and his vice president. But who knows, they might shock us....Hopefully.
Just stop the protests and move on.
